If you used Whale a while back, you may remember a standalone Checklists feature. Here's what happened to it — and why you're seeing the word "Checklists" again today, for something different.
A quick history
The original, standalone Checklists feature was retired. In its place, Whale let you turn any Guide (a step-by-step piece of content) into an interactive, trackable run — at the time, this was called a "Guide run."
More recently, Whale renamed Guides to Checklists across the whole product. So the content type you create and manage is now called a Checklist — and what used to be called a "Guide run" is now just called running a Checklist.
In short: today's Checklists (and running them) are the direct descendant of the old "Guide runs" feature — not a return of the original standalone Checklists feature, even though the name is the same.
