What are AI tokens in Whale?
AI tokens are the credits used within Whale to power AI features such as generating SOPs, rewriting guides, Video to Guide, creating quizzes, and more. Every time you use an AI-powered action, you spend a certain number of tokens.
Each plan includes a monthly token allowance per creator. Additional tokens can be accessed by upgrading your plan.
Why AI tokens?
AI tokens let Whale offer smart AI features to every user while giving teams control over how much AI assistance they use each month. Think of them like credits: use them when you need help drafting, structuring, or improving content.
AI token allowances by plan — valid from May 26, 2026
Token allowances are now tied to creator seats, not the workspace as a whole. Here's how many tokens each plan includes per creator per month:

💡 AI tokens reset monthly on your billing date. The Free plan receives a fixed 20 tokens per month for the workspace — not per creator.

Here's how many tokens each AI-powered feature typically uses:

What happens when I run out?
You'll be notified if your team runs low on tokens.
Once tokens are used up, you can either:
Wait until the next monthly reset, or
Upgrade your plan for a higher allowance.

How to check your remaining AI tokens
Open the upload/conversion slider in the Whale application.
Your remaining AI token count is displayed at the bottom-left corner of the panel.
You can view this without uploading any files or documents.
