Whale MCP lets you connect an AI tool, such as Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini, to your Whale workspace. You can then ask it to find, create and update your Whale content in plain language. It works as you: it can only see and change what your own Whale account can.
đ Connect your AI tool
In Whale, go to Agents âș Coral settings âș MCP (https://app.usewhale.io/knowledge-health/assistant?ai-settings-tab=mcp) and copy the server URL. Admins find this page in the menu.
In your AI tool, add Whale as a custom connector and paste the URL.
Sign in with your Whale account when asked. You don't need an API key.
Try a first prompt, for example: "Which Whale workspace am I in?"
On a company plan of your AI tool (for example Claude Team or Enterprise), an admin of that tool adds Whale as a connector for everyone first.
If you belong to more than one Whale workspace, you choose which one to use. The AI works in one workspace at a time.
𧩠What it can and can't do
Find and read: search your workspace, and open boards, libraries, playbooks, cards, checklists and quizzes.
Create and change: boards, libraries, playbooks, cards, checklists, quizzes and tags.
Delete: boards, libraries, playbooks, cards, checklists and quizzes.
Not available: training flows, assignments, insights and comments.
Changes are saved straight away. If you want to approve each change first, set your AI tool to ask before it runs an action.
đȘ AI tokens
Each action that creates, changes or deletes content uses 1 AI token from your workspace's shared pool. Searching and reading don't. See AI Tokens in Whale, or Adding AI Pass to your workspace if you need more.
đ ïž Troubleshooting
"MCP is not enabled for this workspace. Contact Whale to enable it."
Your plan doesn't include Whale MCP. In Agents âș Coral settings âș MCP, the URL is blurred and you see Request access.
The AI can't find or change something.
Check that you can see or edit it in Whale yourself. The AI has exactly your permissions. Also check it's working in the right workspace.
"AI token limit has been reached."
Your workspace has used this month's AI tokens. Wait for the monthly reset, or add AI Pass in Settings âș Billing.
