Changing your Whale subscription

Updated this week

Whether your team is growing, scaling back, or simply reevaluating how you use Whale, it’s easy to manage your subscription. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel directly from the billing settings. And if your situation is more complex or you’re unsure what plan suits you best, your Customer Success Manager (CSM) or the Whale support team is always here to help at [email protected].

How to Change Your Whale Subscription

Step 1: Open Billing Settings

Go to your Workspace Settings and navigate to the Billing section.

Step 2: Select “Change” Next to Your Current Plan

You’ll see your current subscription details. Click Change to modify your plan.

Step 3: Choose One of the Following Options:

  • 🔼 Upgrade — Move to a plan with more features or capacity.

  • 🔽 Downgrade — Switch to a more lightweight plan that better fits your needs.

  • Cancel — End your subscription - keep using your workspace till your initial renewal date as it won't renew after.

(Note: If you’re on the Forever Free plan (retired on the 8th of December 2025), there's not need to contact us. Your subscription will be deleted after 90 days of inactivity as you can't cancel your workspace in the billing section.)

Step 4: Confirm Your Selection

Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm your plan change or cancellation.

If you’re unsure or want to explore alternatives, feel free to pause here and reach out to support — downgrading instead of canceling might be the right solution.

Important Notes

  • 🟡 Retired Free Plan

As of December 8, 2025, the Forever Free plan is no longer available to customers. You cannot move to our Forever Free plan anymore.

  • 💳 Refund Policy

Whale does not offer refunds, as stated in our Terms & Conditions. If you have questions about your billing, we’re happy to assist.

Still Deciding?

If you’re unsure about next steps or want to get more out of Whale, don’t hesitate to contact your CSM or email [email protected]. We’re confident we can find the best solution for your team — even if it means scaling down rather than stepping away.
