Recorded a process without sound, or want clearer, more consistent narration than the original audio? Whale can generate an AI voiceover for your video. The voiceover is created from the video's captions and timed to match them, so the narration lines up with what's happening on screen.
đď¸ No microphone needed: Add narration to silent screen recordings
đ Cleaner audio: Replace background noise or rushed narration with a clear voice
đ Easy to keep current: Edit the captions and regenerate instead of re-recording
How to add an AI voiceover
Step 1: Open the video editor
Select the 'scissors icon: Edit recording' option to edit the video prior to clicking 'Next'. This opens the video editor tools.
â
Step 2: Generate the voiceover
Click Generate voiceover in the editor's top bar. Whale creates the voiceover from your video's captions. This can take a moment, depending on the length of the video.
â
Step 3: Choose which version plays
Use the version selector in the top bar to switch between the original recording and the AI voiceover. The timeline shows only the audio track that's currently active, so you always see and edit the audio that matters.
Editing captions and regenerating
Because the voiceover is read from your captions, the easiest way to change what's said is to edit the captions. In the captions panel, captions are grouped under chapter headers so you can quickly find the part you want to change.
Open the captions panel and edit the caption text.
Click Regenerate in the captions panel to update the voiceover with your changes.
